The Weeknd Donates $2.5 Million to Provide 4 Million Meals in Gaza

The Weeknd, also known as Abel Tesfaye, has once again demonstrated his commitment to humanitarian causes by making a generous donation of $2.5 million to help provide meals in Gaza. The donation, made through his XO Humanitarian Fund, will support the United Nations World Food Programme’s (WFP) efforts to provide emergency food assistance to the people of Gaza.

As a Goodwill Ambassador for the WFP, The Weeknd has been actively involved in supporting the organization’s mission to end hunger worldwide. Since October 2021, he has personally donated $1.8 million to the WFP’s global hunger-relief mission through his XO Humanitarian Fund, which he established in partnership with World Food Program USA.

The recent donation from The Weeknd will have a significant impact on the ground in Gaza. The funds will be used to provide four million emergency meals, funding 820 metric tons of food parcels that can feed more than 173,000 Palestinians for two weeks. This contribution comes at a critical time when the WFP is working tirelessly to feed over one million people in Gaza.
