Move Over Barbie Jeep, Cozy Coupe: A Cybertruck For Kids Has Arrived – Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA)

After years of anticipation, the first deliveries of the highly-awaited Cybertruck from Tesla Inc took place last week. While many customers still have to wait for their pickup trucks, Tesla has introduced a new vehicle that may satisfy the cravings of eager fans – the Cybertruck For Kids.

Tesla is known for releasing merchandise that showcases its brands and vehicles, including tequila, beer, belt buckles, and even a cyberwhistle. Following suit, the company recently added the Cybertruck For Kids to its website. This all-electric, four-wheel ride-on toy is inspired by the Cybertruck and is listed for sale at a price of $1,500.

Designed for children aged six to 12, the vehicle can seat two kids and has a weight limit of 150 pounds. It can reach speeds of up to 10 miles per hour, with a customizable top speed of 5 miles per hour for newer drivers. Additionally, the vehicle operates at two miles per hour when in reverse and has a range of 12 miles. Tesla is offering shipping to the 48 contiguous American states.

While the website states that the vehicle will begin shipping in late December 2023, deliveries before the holidays are not guaranteed. Currently, the Cybertruck For Kids is sold out, but interested parties can sign up with their email to be notified when it is back in stock.

This is not the first time Tesla has introduced a toy inspired by the Cybertruck. In 2021, the company launched the Cyberquad for Kids, which sold out in the U.S. within 24 hours. However, it was later recalled and banned in October 2022. The Cyberquad did find success in China and Europe, where it was sold earlier this year for a listed price of around $2,105 in the European market.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk had previously mentioned that an electric ATV would be available as an add-on purchase for the Cybertruck. A trademark filing by the company also hinted at the possibility of an electric ATV in the works.

The introduction of the Cybertruck For Kids adds to the excitement surrounding Tesla’s highly-anticipated electric pickup truck. While customers eagerly await their own Cybertrucks, children can now join in on the fun with their own miniature version.
